7/10: Caring for Evanston’s Urban Forest

29 Jun

Trees absorb carbon pollution and help temper the impacts of climate change.

But they are under stress from invasive species, disease, and the warming climate

— and forestry budgets are stretched thin.

At this month’s Green Drinks, panelists will discuss challenges to Evanston’s urban forest,

what’s being done to manage more than 30,000 trees on Evanston’s public lands

and what you can do to help expand Evanston’s urban forest and keep it healthy.

Panelists include:

  • Paul D’Agostino – Superintendent of Parks, Forestry & Facilities Management, Evanston
  • Josh Behounek – Davey Resource Group
  • Wendy Pollock – TreeKeeper #1050

When: Tuesday, July 10th 7 – 9 pm

Where: Firehouse Grill, 750 Chicago Avenue, Evanston

What: A free networking opportunity and panel discussion
